2nd Grade

This is our 3rd year to pose in this spot. I love that picture behind him - he was one week old!

Such little monkeys!

Saying goodbye to little brother

I think he was a little embarrassed that his mom was taking his picture, but I didn't care! He should know by now that I take pictures of everything.

Pictures of Caden

The boys and I just returned from a wonderful week loving on Baby Caden. He is a sweetie and he completely stole our hearts! We miss him terribly and we are certain that he misses us too!!!

D loved holding Caden. Being a big brother, he seemed very natural holding a baby. G was quite the monkey. He adored Caden, but sometimes got a little too close. Fortunately, Caden still has both eyes and his nose is still intact!

More pictures to come.

If you haven't been there yet, check out the new mommy's blog.

He's Here!

Caden Ford Caldwell arrived yesterday morning at 3:16. He weighed 7 lbs 4oz and is 20 inches. I spent the night at the hospital with K and Caden last night, trying to give her an extra hand. I got to spend a lot of time holding him, kissing him, and thanking God that He gave my sister and brother-in-law this gift.

Everything went very well and mother and son are perfect. He has a little bit of sandy brown hair and has a cleft in his chin!

I will be staying with them for a few days, hoping to cook meals and get some future meals put in the freezer. Our mom is here to help out, which is something I'll always cherish from my days of new motherhood! There is something so sweet and wonderful about helping the women you love the most transition into motherhood. Boy I needed help 8 years ago and I really hope to be a help to my sister.

The brother and his family will come down Saturday to meet Caden. I'll post pictures later.

The Chicken Fairy?

D's friend Courtney spent the night the other night. She cracks me up. One time she spent the night and I made homemade buttermilk pancakes for breakfast. She took one bite and was somewhat disgusted. She stood up and announced that her mom just takes the pancakes out of the freezer and microwaves them. In her mind, her mom's method was superior to mine! Being great friends with her mom, I called her at work and told her the story. She immediately said she was going to kill Courtney for being so silly for turning down homemade pancakes!

Anyway, Courtney lost a tooth and the fairy didn't come until the second night. I asked her if she thought the tooth fairy had just forgotten (she does that sometimes). She said, "No, I'm pretty sure she got delayed in Africa - delivering a chicken to someone."

Huh??? I guess kids in Africa find chickens much more useful than money or trinkets!

Oh, that kid cracks me up!
